Rebuild

At His Voice Global, one of the three components of our approach to ministry is to rebuild purpose by providing assistance that channels the skills and resources of those we serve to create self-sufficiency.

Since we are called to work in areas of the world with high populations of vulnerable women and children, we seek to rebuild not only their economic self-sufficiency, but their sense of self-worth in the eyes of a loving God as well.

Let me give you some examples of how this works.

In Kenya, His Voice partners with Rift Valley Hope church to provide safe houses to boys and girls while helping their mothers escape the sex trade that is so prevalent along the infamous “aids highway”. We know God desires to see families unified and strong. Because of this, economic opportunity is provided to parents or guardians of a child in our care. This allows families to become self-sufficient. Widows create self-sustaining income by working together to produce products for sale in the community.

In South Sudan, our partner the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) in Yei helps students become self-sufficient members of society. Life skill development is a part of the education process. Our role is to support EPC by providing economic development assistance in creating income-generating opportunities for students and their families. These small businesses also help support the orphanages and schools on the EPC campus.

In Uganda, six full-time His Voice missionaries and their families are responsible for assisting orphan students who are attending university or trade school in Arua and Kampala. When completed, the Arise Discipleship and Retreat Center being built in Arua, will provide space for holistic mentorship to equip each student physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. As the students acclimate to the new environment, the Discipleship Center will provide stability as they transition to become self-sufficient members of society.

We thank God that He has given us the mission and the mission field to be a voice for those in the “rebuilding process”. As we act in obedience to Him, please pray that the people we touch in His name will become the kind of reproducing disciples that build God’s Kingdom here on earth while we wait to join Him in heaven.
