Alive!

Nothing is more important to the Mission and Vision of His Voice Global than our Alive Program. By 2050, more Christians will be living in Africa than any continent on Earth. His Voice Global has been raising up leaders among the vulnerable in East Africa for nearly two decades because we not only see the importance of integrative care and leadership development, but also the call of Africans for worldwide impact as they carry out the Great Commission.

new hope for Agnes!

God is always weaving stories together. No story stands by itself. He is always connecting people to Himself and other people. The story of Shine Friend, Bako Agnes, is proof of God's heart for people to see His glory.

Twenty years ago, Agnes - now age 44 -  was misdiagnosed with Elephantiasis. Since Agnes qualified to be a part of the Shine Program, our team was able to have her re-assessed by physicians who determined she did not have Elephantiasis, but a deep bone infection in her leg and foot. Soon after this discovery, Agnes' lower leg and foot were amputated. Her strength is returning and she is now able to walk with crutches and has the future potential of a prosthetic.

After the amputation, God began weaving our Alive Program into Agnes' story by way of Trauma Care classes. These trauma care classes are hosted at Agnes' house each Thursday and are open to neighbors and friends. Instead of physical wounds, the trauma care classes address heart and soul wounds. The Alive team leads the group through a curriculum based on the story of Joseph about questions and hurts they have in their lives. The trauma care groups learn to see God working in their life amidst the hurt and the questions, just as Joseph learned. Agnes and her friends are learning about God's healing for their hearts and minds.

Because Agnes is opening her home, God's story has woven together many others who are getting to experience Him through the Alive program. God is teaching them that even though the enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy - He has come so they can have life abundant! Even through a misdiagnosis and an amputation, no matter what situation they are facing, Jesus comes to redeem, renew, and restore their hearts and souls!
