2019: Belonging Together
Friends,
2018 was an absolutely incredible year for us as an organization!
We are trusting and building for an even more successful 2019.
Over the past several years we have invested heavily on the financial side in Kenya. Now that we are coming to the end of our building campaigns, we are able to continue with ongoing support for the women and children we deeply love. In concert with this support, options to help produce financial self-sustainability are being explored. We will also continue to invest by sending short term teams, which we trust will strengthen our ongoing long term partnership with Rift Valley Hope.
During our executive team’s most recent trip to South Sudan and Uganda, many doors were opened for us that we are excited to step through this year.
In Uganda we will continue to build out Arise Discipleship and Retreat Center which we are trusting will be provide a strong foundation and place for our college students from South Sudan to grow in The Lord. We also are looking forward to all the ways The Lord will eventually use Arise to be a place for restoration and rest for missionaries and pastors.
One reality we are deeply excited about is a wide open door to expand our theological training teaching into places in northern Uganda that have been historically more difficult.
We are also going to be sending short term teams to Uganda this year!
In South Sudan we have experienced an immense amount of success with peacemaking in 2018. This has allowed for us to also venture into several new and exciting plans that we will be discussing in detail over the next weeks!
Mother Theresa said, “The problem with the world is that we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” My prayer is that we will be a global community that sees we all belong to each other, both in our pain and in our praise. In every way we seem to be experiencing an immense amount of growth. 2019 will require more resources, financially and human resource wise, than we have ever needed. Thank you so much for all the ways you have supported us. We cannot wait to see all the ways The Lord weaves together a story that only He could fulfill!
Live loved,
Vernon
