If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
(Colossians 3:1-4 ESV)
To set your mind on things above is to look at things through the lens of Jesus. So many times people use this saying to think the earth is evil, yet this is not the case! If we are to think like Jesus we must ask, “What is Jesus thinking about?”
It can’t be that He only cares about Heaven and has a total indifference to Earth. After all, He is coming a second time and will completely renew Earth.
Therefore, it is a matter of having a hope filled Kingdom perspective that concentrates on the reality of perfect redemption being found in Him alone. It is a matter of living through the eternal lens of His victory.
Today, since your life is hidden with Christ. Start to ask Him how He would deal with your individual situations. He wants to breathe eternal victory in all you do and say. He wants you to know that all things work together for those who love Him (Rom. 8:28) precisely because He has conquered all evil and this is WHO you are hidden in.
